International Merit Scholarship at University of Memphis


The University of Memphis (UofM) selectively awards competitive merit-based scholarships for newly admitted degree-seeking international students on a J-1 or F-1 visa. This scholarship is designed to support international students who matriculate and take classes on the UofM campus as they work toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. International Merit Scholarship at University of Memphis Founded in 1912, The University of Memphis is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Memphis (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Tennessee. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Millington, Jackson. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, The University of Memphis (UofM) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Memphis (UofM) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Requirements for the International Merit Scholarship for Incoming Undergraduate Students:
• 24 ACT or 1180 SAT equivalent
OR
• 3.25 U.S.A. equivalent undergraduate degree GPA as determined by a credential evaluation agency (www.naces.org)
Eligibility Requirements for the International Merit Scholarship for Incoming Graduate Students:
• 300 GRE or equivalent on other tests
OR
• 3.0 U.S.A. equivalent undergraduate degree GPA as determined by a credential evaluation agency (www.naces.org) or relevant master's degree from an accredited and approved institution
Continuing Requirements to Keep the International Merit Scholarship
for Undergraduate Students:
• Full-time enrollment status
• 2.75 UofM GPA in first two semesters and 3.0 UofM GPA for subsequent semesters
for Graduate Students:
• Full-time enrollment status
• 3.0 UofM GPA all semesters

Offered Benefits

Award amounts vary. This scholarship cannot be combined with other UofM institutional scholarships, with some specific exceptions allowed for departmental funding.
