Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree study in Neolithic Archaeology
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Applicants must have completed a degree programme equivalent to a Danish Master’s degree (two years, 120 ECTS) in archaeology or a similar discipline.
  • Fluency in English and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: All interested candidates must take admission in a postdoctoral degree at the University of Copenhagen. After being enrolled, applicants can complete the  online application form for this award.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Cover letter (max 1 page), including your motivation for applying for the specific PhD project.
  • Curriculum vitae (with the applicant’s email and telephone number), including information about your education, experience, language skills and other skills relevant for the position.
  • Diplomas and transcript of records including:
  • A copy of the applicant’s Master’s degree diploma (if not available before the application deadline, a pre-approval must be submitted).
  • A copy of the applicant’s Master’s degree transcript of records (an official description of the grading scale must be included).
  • A copy of the applicant’s Bachelor’s degree diploma.
  • A copy of the applicant’s Bachelor’s degree transcript of records (an official description of the grading scale must be included).
  • Writing sample. Please include an example of your academic writing in English, such as an article or an MA-thesis chapter.
  • Publication list (if available).
  • Reference letters (if available).
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, applicants must check and fulfill the admission guidelines to be admitted at UCH for the fellowship.
  • Language Requirement: The students are required to have good English skills. They can provide proof of proficiency through the following:
  • Letter of motivation
  • A summary of the results of your research career to date
  • CV with contact details of three references and a complete list of publications, if applicable
  • Certified copy of original Master of Science diploma and transcript of records in the original language, including an authorized English translation if issued in other language than English or Danish. If not completed, a certified/signed copy of a recent transcript of records or a written statement from the institution or supervisor is accepted. As a prerequisite for a PhD fellowship employment, your master’s degree must be equivalent to a Danish master’s degree.
