International Foundation Scholarships


A number of 100% International Foundation scholarships are available for gifted students starting in September 2015 and January 2016: six for September entry and four for January entry. Scholarship applicants must already hold an offer to study at INTO Newcastle University.

The scholarships are for the following programmes:

  • International Foundation in Architecture
  • International Foundation in Business and Management
  • International Foundation in Humanities and Social Sciences
  • International Foundation in Physical Sciences and Engineering
  • International Foundation in Biological and Biomedical Sciences

International Foundation Scholarships Founded in 1963, Newcastle University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Newcastle upon Tyne (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), North East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Newcastle University is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Newcastle University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 56 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Offered Benefits

Each scholarship is to the value of £16,900, or £17,500 for the Architecture pathway. The first half of the scholarship, £8,450 (£8,750 for Architecture) will be deducated from your International Foundation tuition fees. Upon successful completion (and subject to achieving specified grades for entry), scholarship students entering degree programmes at Newcastle University will receive a further scholarship valued at £8,450 (£8,750 for Architecture), towards your Year 1 tuition fees.
