Two full scholarships are offered in the International Business division to fund exceptional UK/EU and international applicants. International Business Scholarships at University of Leeds for Phd Founded in 1904, University of Leeds is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Leeds (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Yorkshire and the Humber. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Leeds is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Leeds offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 115 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PhD programme, you should hold a British Masters degree (or equivalent degree from an overseas university) or an equivalent professional qualification, with a minimum average score of 60 percent (or equivalent) and in an appropriate academic discipline.

Offered Benefits

We are offering two full-time PhD scholarships as follows:

  • Two full-time PhD scholarships for UK/EU/international candidates covering a maintenance stipend and UK/EU/international tuition fees for three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

Maintenance stipends are paid at the UK Research Council rate (£15,009 in 2019/20, the rate is reviewed annually).

Application Process

In order to apply for this scholarship, you should first apply for a place on the PhD programme at Leeds University Business School.

You should then apply for the scholarship, using the student ID number you received after submitting your PhD application.

You must have submitted all the relevant documents in support of your PhD application by the scholarship closing date.

If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence that you meet the Leeds University Business School minimum English language requirements (below) before registration. You do not need to have met the requirement at the time you apply.

We welcome applications from all suitably-qualified candidates, but UK black and minority ethnic (BME) researchers are currently under-represented in our Postgraduate Research community, and we would therefore particularly encourage applications from UK BME candidates. All scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit.
