SEMO International Academic Excellence Scholarships in USA for Bachelor


International students can now access high-quality, affordable education in the USA! The Southeast Missouri State University has established the International Academic Excellence Awards for overseas students for the academic year 2022-2023.

Beginning freshman who is international entrants in the USA is eligible to apply for this scholarship. The students must have achieved a high school GPA of 3.7 in their high school to be eligible to receive this $8,000 award. The award will be presented for two semesters.

SEMO International Academic Excellence Scholarships in USA for Bachelor Founded in 1873, Southeast Missouri State University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the rural setting of the medium-sized town of Cape Girardeau (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Missouri. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Higher Learning Commission, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 146 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this US higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All international students can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate programmes taught at SEMO can be applied for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have ACT or SAT scores of 1280+ or 27+ respectively.
  • The applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.75.

Offered Benefits

The selected students will be awarded a total of $8,000, $4,000 per semester for fall and spring, to carry out their undergraduate studies at SEMO.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Online applications for SEMO can be submitted on the university portal. Awardees will be decided based on the admission application.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Passport copy
  • Academic transcripts
  • Affidavit of Financial Support and Proof of finances
  • Admission Requirements: The students must have a minimum of 3.75 high school GPA.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL iBT – 79
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • ITEP- 3.9
  • PTE Academic – 53
  • Duolingo – 105
