The IHS–TSH Changemaker Scholarship supports outstanding students with strong academic records and demonstrated changemaking potential by covering tuition fees, providing housing, and offering mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Applicants must have unconditional admission to the MSc in Urban Management & Development at IHS and demonstrate strong English proficiency. The scholarship is open to candidates facing social, economic, educational, or structural disadvantages, such as limited financial resources, refugee or newcomer status, marginalisation, disability, or being a first-generation student.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: MSc in Urban Management & Development (all specialisations) offered by IHS, Erasmus University Rotterdam
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Hold unconditional admission to the MSc in Urban Management & Development at IHS

  • Demonstrate strong English language proficiency

  • Face disadvantages that may limit personal or professional development, such as:

    • Limited financial, educational, social, or health resources

    • Refugee or newcomer status

    • Ethnic or religious marginalisation

    • Physical or mental disabilities

    • First-generation university student

    • LGBTQI+ identity with potential safety risks

    • Reduced social capital or sense of security

  • Show active community involvement, social contribution, and commitment to engaging with the Changemaker alumni network

Application Process

  1. Secure unconditional admission to the MSc in Urban Management & Development at IHS.

  2. Ensure you meet the Changemaker Scholarship eligibility criteria.

  3. Submit the Changemaker Scholarship application to IHS by 22 February 2026, including:

    • A motivational letter outlining your goals and motivation to study at IHS

    • A letter of intent explaining how you will cover the living deposit

  4. Await the selection outcome by 15 March 2026.

  5. If selected, accept the offer and transfer the living deposit by the end of March 2026.
