The IAEA Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Fellowship Programme is now open for the academic session 2025/2026. Beyond financial support, selected fellows may also gain hands-on experience through exclusive internship opportunities.

The fellowship is open to female students from all countries who are applying for or already enrolled in a master’s programme in nuclear-related studies at an accredited university. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, motivation to pursue a career in the nuclear field, and meet the IAEA’s application requirements.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is a United Nations organization established in 1957 to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy while ensuring it is not used for military purposes. It also plays a vital role in nuclear safety, security, and safeguards, supporting global peace, security, and innovation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to women from all countries

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Scholarships are awarded for master’s programmes in nuclear-related studies

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
    • Be a female student applying for or enrolled in a master’s programme in nuclear-related studies at an accredited university.
    • Demonstrate strong academic performance and motivation to pursue a career in the nuclear field.
    • Commit to contributing to scientific and technological innovation in line with the IAEA’s mandate.
    • Meet specific application requirements set by the IAEA.

Application Process

The documents required in addition to completed online application form are:

  • Copy of the Passport/National ID
  • Official acceptance/admission letter from university into the master’s programme indicating the nuclear related field of study and duration of the programme
  • Statement of tuition fees/confirmation of?tuition costs
  • If applicable, documents about other scholarships you have for the master’s programme for which you are seeking MSCFP support.
  • Completed reference templates sent directly to  MSCFP by referees by the application deadline (download the form  here). One reference is MANDATORY, second is preferred.
