To recognize the academic achievements of outstanding international students, the University of Hong Kong is offering the HKU foundation grants in Hong Kong.

The Foundation award is a special merit-based award for Indian students with an All Indian Senior Secondary Exam Certificate or Indian School Certificate. Students who wish to undertake an undergraduate programme at the University of Hong Kong. The selected applicants will receive tuition fee and other allowances for their study at HKU in Hong Kong.

HKU foundation grants for Indian Students at University of Hong Kong for Bachelor Founded in 1911, The University of Hong Kong is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Hong Kong (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Hong Kong (HKU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 108 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: India
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Applicants can undertake an undergraduate programme offered at HKU.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants are required to have an All Indian Senior Secondary Certificate Exam or Indian School Certificate.

Offered Benefits

The University of Hong Kong will select students to give tuition fee benefits and allowances for the applied undergraduate programme.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The applicants must submit an online application form for any desired undergraduate course and complete the process. Application for the opportunity is not required. Eligible students are automatically considered.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Two application choices
  • Personal statement
  • Public exam result certificates
  • Final three years report of secondary education
  • Proof of prizes/awards
  • Copy of national identification card along with contact information of academic referees
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants are required to have completed 12 years of schooling, including high school to be admitted to an undergraduate programme at HKU.
  • Language Requirement: The applicants are required to attain minimum scores in the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL IBT – 80
  • IELTS – 6.0
