HeForShe IMPACT Champion international awards at University of Hong Kong for Bachelor Founded in 1911, The University of Hong Kong is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Hong Kong (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Hong Kong (HKU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 108 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applicants from international countries that demonstrate low national achievements can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate degree programmes taught at HKU are eligible to apply for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The students must bring outstanding academic results and demonstrated a commitment to achieving the HeForShe movement’s objectives.

Offered Benefits

The applicants selected for this application will receive full tuition fee coverage along with ith allowances from HKU.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The applicants need to create and log in to their account on the university portal to apply. The scholarship does not require a separate application. The applicants must upload a 300-word essay stating their role as an ‘Impact Champion’ in their community in their online admission application.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Degree certificate
  • Transcripts
  • Course-specific requirements
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants are required to have completed 12 years of schooling including high school to be admitted to an undergraduate programme at HKU.
  • Language Requirement: The students are required to provide the following tests with minimum scores required by the university:
  • TOEFL IBT – 93
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English / Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English – 180
  • Duolingo is also accepted.
