Eligibility for the Scholarship is open to new PhD applicants demonstrating exceptional research potential and leadership skills. Candidates must intend to enroll in or transfer to a Dalhousie PhD program in early 2025 or January 2026. Offered Benefits
Recipients of the Dalhousie Research Excellence Scholarship will receive $35,000 annually for up to four years, including funding from a combination of sources specified by the department upon acceptance. In cases where recipients secure additional major awards, they may receive a total of up to $40,000 per year. Additional funding may also be available through stipends or other negotiated sources with the program supervisor.
