The University of Waterloo is pleased to announce the Haitham Kamil Graduate Award, valued at $2,000, aimed at supporting full-time graduate students in any master’s or doctoral program.

To apply for this funding program, Canadian/Permanent resident, International/study permit student
must be full-time graduate students enrolled in any master’s or doctoral program at the University of Waterloo, maintaining a minimum cumulative average of 70%. In addition to academic achievement, candidates should demonstrate active involvement in cultural extracurricular activities and meaningful contributions to the Iraqi community, as assessed through their application.The University of Waterloo is renowned for its innovative research and strong emphasis on experiential learning located in Ontario, Canada. Haitham Kamil Graduate Award in Canada for Master Established in 1957, University of Waterloo is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Waterloo (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Ontario. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Ontario, University of Waterloo (UW) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Waterloo (UW) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is open to students enrolled in any subject offered by the University of Waterloo, including Arts, Engineering, Environment, Health, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Be a full-time graduate student enrolled in any master’s or doctoral program at the University of Waterloo.
    • Have a minimum 70% cumulative average in their current program.
    • Demonstrate involvement in cultural extracurricular activities and contributions to the Iraqi community, as determined through their application.

Offered Benefits

One award valued at $2,000 will be provided annually. If no eligible graduate applicants are found in a given year, the award may be offered to an undergraduate student following the criteria outlined in Appendix A.

Application Process

Students must apply by February 15 via the application form found on the Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs website.
