Looking to pursue advanced research in Japan? The Graduate School of Science and Technology at Gunma University is now accepting applications for its Scholarship Special Program in Intelligence and Control.

Eligibility for the scholarship requires applicants to be enrolled in the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Gunma University from October 2026. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) or English (CEFR B2 or higher) proficiency. Master’s applicants should hold or expect to obtain a bachelor’s degree by September 2026, while doctoral applicants should hold or expect to obtain a master’s or equivalent degree by the same date.

Gunma University Scholarships Special Program in Intelligence and Control, Japan Founded in 1949, Gunma University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Maebashi (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Gunma. Gunma University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Application Process

  • Applicants must submit the completed application form, academic transcripts, proof of language proficiency, copy of passport/ID, certificates of (prospective) graduation, recommendation letter from the Dean (or above), list of publications, and a detailed research proposal (1–2 pages for Master’s, 3–5 pages for Doctoral).

  • Applications must be submitted by January 16, 2026.

  • An online interview examination will be held in January 2026, including self-introduction, past research, and research plan presentation.

  • Results will be announced in late January 2026.
