In collaboration with the UK Government Great Britain campaign, British Council is offering GREAT Scholarship Justice and Law to support students from Nigeria in the UK at the University of Westminster.

The scholarship programme has been established for applicants who want to start a full-time master’s course in Law starting in September 2022 at the University of Westminster. This scholarship is open to overseas fee-paying students from Nigeria.

Its antecedent institution, the Royal Polytechnic Institution, was founded in 1838 and was the first polytechnic institution in the UK. It offers a range of 180 UG courses, 231 PG courses, and 99 professional & short courses, including full-time, part-time, open, and distance learning courses.

GREAT Scholarship Justice and Law for Nigerian Students at University of Westminster, UK for Master Established in 1838, University of Westminster is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of London (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Westminster is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Westminster offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Nigeria.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Master’s course in Law offered by the University of Westminster.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Be an overseas student for fee purposes from (and residing in) Nigeria and have an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate course at Westminster Law School starting in September 2022.

Offered Benefits

The university will provide the amount of a £10,000 tuition fee award paid directly to the University towards your tuition fees. Students on two-year postgraduate courses will receive the award for their first year only.

  • How to Apply: Students are required to make an  admission application in order to qualify to be considered for the scholarship. After that, complete the GREAT Scholarship Justice and Law application form, and return your completed application form, including any required supporting evidence, as PDF attachments to
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must have required copies of your qualifications
  • International students who need a student visa to attend the university will need a copy of their passports.
  • A personal statement
  • Details of referees (refer to the entry requirements on the course page for specific requirements)
  • Admission Requirements: Students must have a minimum UK equivalent 2:1 Honors degree.
  • Language Requirement: If you’re considering a full degree study or research study, you will need to meet the English language requirements.
