Graduate School Research Assistantship at Hallym University in Korea Established in 1982, Hallym University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the small city of Chuncheon (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Gangwon. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Korea, Hallym University is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 8,000-8,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Hallym University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 37 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 10-20% making this South Korean higher education organization a most selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded for PhD study in Computer Engineering
  • Admissible Criteria: To qualify for this application, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of Aug. 2021
  • For the Master’s program (or Integrated Master’s & Doctoral program): students should hold a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than Bachelor’s degree
  • For the Doctoral program: students should hold a Master’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Master’s degree.

  • Good background in the area(s) of research
  • Good programming skills
  • Good English language skills- written and oral
  • Good ability to cooperate with others in a multicultural environment
  • Good ability for highly motivated independent research

  • Support full tuition fees for the whole study period
  • Monthly Allowance of 900,000 ~ 1,200,000 won (KRW)
  • Extra allowances based on research performance
