Global Voices Award in Italy for Bachelor

The Global Voices Award is now open for the academic session 2025/2026 presented by The International Spectator with support from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Centro Studi sul Federalismo.

The award is open to authors of articles published in the International Spectator between 1 January and 31 December 2025 that were not initially open access. Eligible articles must demonstrate academic excellence, originality, and a strong commitment to inclusivity through authorship, subject matter, or relevance to underrepresented communities.

The International Spectator is a peer-reviewed journal of international affairs, published by the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). It provides in-depth analysis on global political and economic issues, with a particular focus on European and Mediterranean affairs. The journal is supported by the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Fondazione Centro Studi sul Federalismo, two prominent Italian institutions committed to promoting research, policy dialogue, and scholarship on international cooperation, federalism, and inclusive governance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All countries

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The award is conferred for research articles or essays in the field of International Relations published in the International Spectator.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • The article must be published in the International Spectator during the 2025 calendar year (1 January to 31 December)
    • The article must not have been originally published as open access
    • It must demonstrate scholarly quality, including academic rigour and innovativeness
    • It should reflect inclusivity in authorship, topic, or relevance to underrepresented communities.

Offered Benefits

The winning article will be retroactively converted to full open access at no cost to the author(s), significantly increasing its accessibility, visibility, and impact in the field of International Relations.

Application Process

No direct application is required. All articles published in the International Spectator in 2025 that meet the eligibility criteria will automatically be considered. The recipient will be chosen by a selection committee appointed by the journal’s editors in early 2026.
