The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has taken the initiative to help students impacted by the war on Ukraine by establishing its Global Response Assistantships for the academic year 2022-2023.

This scholarship has especially been designed for international students from Ukraine who are impacted severely by the war. The students must be applying for a graduate programme study and hold a bachelor’s degree. The scholarship award will cover tuition fees, airfare, and accommodation.

Global Response Assistantships for Ukraine Students in USA for Master Established in 1886, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Chattanooga (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Tennessee. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 133 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this US higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Ukraine are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Master of Public Administration, Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Science, or Master of Engineering Management can be applied for at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have been seriously impacted by the war on Ukraine.
  • The applicants must be enrolled as graduate students taking at least nine (9) semester hours of graduate coursework applicable to your graduate degree.
  • The applicants must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average based on all graduate courses taken at UTC.

Offered Benefits

The students selected by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to be awarded this scholarship will be provided the following:

  • Tuition and fees
  • Round trip plane tickets between your home city and Chattanooga
  • Room (at UTC) and board
  • $4500 per semester

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Students must submit an application for admission via the university’s application portal. Then, submit a separate scholarship application form to be considered for the scholarship award.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Most recent transcript or proof of a completed bachelor
  • Copy of passport ID Page
  • Copy of I-20 or DS2019
  • Essay – What makes you happy
  • Video – Talk about yourself and your situation caused by the war and how it affected you and your family? What are your career goals?
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have completed at least a bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree or plans to earn a bachelor’s (undergraduate) by July 2022.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL IBP – 79
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • Duolingo – 100
