This fellowship aims to help York faculty strengthen their ability to conduct globally impactful research by collaborating with leading peers around the world to jointly attract and train top talent at the  PDF/PDV levels.  

This new GRE stream is also an institutional response to global developments that position Canada competitively to attract top international talent.  We believe that the global competition for talent, addressing grand challenges, and international partnerships are synergistic. This approach will better empower us to drive change that benefits Canada and the world.

Global Joint Post-Doctoral Fellowship at York University 2026 Founded in 1959, York University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Toronto (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Ontario. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Ontario, York University (YU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 40,000-44,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. York University (YU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Please note, the amounts above are not annual year over year funding. The amounts are the total funding awarded for the entire duration of a funded project. GRE funding is not to build a research program but to seed connections/deepening of relations between York faculty research and leading researchers overseas.
