Applications are now open for the Global Impact Masters Scholarships 2026/2027 at the University of York. Designed to support exceptional international students, the scholarship provides £5,000–£8,000 in financial aid for the first year of postgraduate study.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time postgraduate taught course at the University of York by 31 August 2026 and be paying fees at the overseas rate. The scholarship is open to students from eligible countries across Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Global Impact Masters Scholarships at University of York, UK Established in 1963, The University of York is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of York (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Yorkshire and the Humber. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, The University of York is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of York offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 56 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: USA, Canada, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Türkiye, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Egypt.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for full-time postgraduate taught courses offered by the University of York.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Have a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of York by 31 August 2026.

  • Be paying fees at the overseas fee rate (any fee assessments must be completed by 31 August 2026).

  • Intend to study a full-time postgraduate taught program.
    Not eligible if:

  • You hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship or are fully sponsored.

  • You are studying under a partnership, exchange, or distance learning program.

  • You are enrolled in excluded programs such as those at Hull York Medical School, MSc Nursing, MA Public Policy (Mundus MAPP), or PGCert courses.

Offered Benefits

  • Students from the USA or Canada will receive £5,000.

  • Students from India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, or Türkiye will receive £6,000.

  • Students from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, or Egypt will receive £8,000.

This scholarship provides valuable financial support towards tuition fees, enabling international students to pursue their postgraduate studies at one of the UK’s leading universities.

Application Process

No formal application is required. All eligible postgraduate taught students holding an offer at York will be automatically considered for the Global Impact Masters Scholarship once the awards begin.
