A GEF internship offers individuals an opportunity to learn about the GEF and contribute to its mission for the global environment. Interns will be assigned to a team and staff mentor for the duration of their internship period.

Benefits of GEF Internship Program
A stipend of $3,000 per calendar month or possibility of external funding arrangements. Interns must make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel, and medical insurance.
Requirements for GEF Internship Program
- To be eligible for an internship candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate study program in a field relevant to the GEF’s work. There is no age limit.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other languages is desirable. Other skills such as computing skills are advantageous.

Selection Process
Duration
Three to six months, full-time or part-time depending on work needs/assignment. Internships are expected to be in-person at the GEF offices in Washington, DC, consistent with applicable return-to-work rules at the GEF and World Bank. The possibility of remote working arrangements will be considered in line with these rules, on a case-by-case basis.
