The Study Now – Global Citizen International Scholarship 2025 is now open for high-achieving students from Nigeria and Ghana! This scholarship supports undergraduate and postgraduate students at University of Sunderland and York St John University with full tuition coverage for Year 1 (UG) and 50% tuition (PG).

The study programme is open to nationals of Nigeria and Ghana who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement. Undergraduate applicants must have WAEC (or equivalent) with at least a B grade for foundation programs, while Year 1 entry requires A-Levels, IB, or WAEC with a B grade plus one year of HND or bachelor’s study.

Global Citizen International Scholarships in UK Established in 1992, University of Sunderland is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Sunderland (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), North East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Sunderland is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Sunderland offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 27 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Nigeria and Ghana
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the University of Sunderland or York St John University.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Undergraduate Applicants:
    • For foundation programs: WAEC (or equivalent) with no lower than a B grade.
    • For Year 1 entry: A-Levels, IB, or WAEC with no lower than a B grade, plus one year of HND or Year 1 Bachelor’s completion.
  • Postgraduate Applicants:
    • A Second-Class Upper Division (2:1) or equivalent in undergraduate studies.
  • Submission of two (2) video responses (2 minutes each) addressing:
    1. Why the applicant should be considered for the Study Now Scholarship.
    2. How the scholarship will help achieve their career and life ambitions.
  • Evidence of participation in extra-curricular activities.
  • Ability to meet UKVI financial and visa requirements and fund their living expenses for the entire study period.

  • Postgraduate Students: 50% tuition coverage.
  • Scholarship recipients will serve as Study Now Student Ambassadors and participate in promotional activities.

Application Process

  1. Applicants must submit their applications through the Study Now website or Monday.com form, including:
    • Academic transcripts or certificates
    • Two (2) video submissions (uploaded or linked via YouTube)
    • A completed scholarship application form
    • A CV and personal statement
  2. No application fee is required.
