Georgia Special Needs program for Course


Georgia Special Needs applications are available to help by support students attending Georgia public schools.

The purpose of the program is to provide assistance for special needs students going to apply or want to study in a school in Georgia.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: the United States
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The program will provide for school education in any subject
  • Admissible Criteria: To qualify, a candidate must:
  • Have been registered in a Georgia, public school for the whole earlier school year. Pre-school programs do not count for this eligibility factor.
  • Should also have acknowledged special education services under an Individualized Education Plan at any point in that year, and those services should be reflected in the student’s local district’s October or May student count.
  • The student’s parent or guardian necessity live in Georgia presently and have been a resident for at least one year.
  • The program allows any student with a disability whose parents are unhappy with their assigned public school to receive a voucher from attending private school.

Offered Benefits

Scholarships typically range anywhere from $2,500 to $13,500. The GSNS awards scholarship recipients about $6,000 on average.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To join for the award, make sure you read each step wisely and take benefit of the Department of Education’s resources provided for you.
  • Supporting Documents: Documents will differ according to your chosen school in which you wish to study.
  • Entry Requirements: Must check the following:
  • Notify state regarding the intention to join
  • Must have demonstrated financial viability
  • Comply with federal nondiscrimination supplies of 42 U.S.C. § 2000(d)
  • Comply with state health and safety requests
  • Be qualified or in the process of becoming accredited
  • Teachers should have a bachelor’s degree or three years’ experience in education or health
  • Provide parents with teachers’ credentials
  • Report to parents and state regarding students’ academic progress
  • Language Requirement: English
