Swansea University, in collaboration with the Welsh Government, is offering a fully funded PhD Studentship in Restoring Intertidal Systems using Electronics. This exciting opportunity is part of the READY Doctoral Focal Award and focuses on using low-cost electronic sensors to monitor and support the restoration of coastal habitats like salt marshes and seagrass meadows.
This PhD aims to support global and national initiatives like the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration by developing low-cost, field-deployable sensor systems to monitor coastal restoration outcomes in salt marshes, seagrasses, and mangroves. Applicants must hold a 2.1 undergraduate degree in Biosciences or a related field, or a master’s degree with at least a Merit (or international equivalent).
