Fully Funded PhD Studentship in AI-Assisted Mesh Generation and Adaptation for Industrial Simulation, UK


Swansea University is offering an EPSRC-funded PhD studentship for students interested in AI and engineering simulation. This research project aims to develop intelligent mesh generation tools to support sustainable and high-quality industrial modelling.

Applicants must hold at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Computational Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline. The studentship is open to UK and international candidates, subject to UKRI/EPSRC eligibility rules. Applicants must meet English language requirements (IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, or an accepted equivalent).

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in subjects related to:
  • Civil Engineering

  • Computational Engineering

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Related engineering or applied science disciplines

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Hold an undergraduate degree at 2:1 level or equivalent in Engineering or a closely related discipline

  • Meet UKRI/EPSRC eligibility requirements

  • Meet English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall (minimum 5.5 in each component) or an accepted equivalent

  • Be able to study full-time

  • ATAS clearance may be required for some applicants (not needed at application stage).
