Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is offering a fully funded PhD position in Microfluidic NMR Spectroscopy for Microbiological Investigations. The project, part of the NWO-funded BREATHLESS program, aims to design and develop advanced microfluidic devices integrated with NMR spectroscopy to study microbial interactions and metabolism under anoxic conditions.

To be eligible, applicants must have a completed MSc degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Biophysics, Biotechnology, or a related field. They should have knowledge of microfluidics and spectroscopy, good research and problem-solving skills, and strong English proficiency (C1 level). Experience with NMR or microfluidics is an advantage.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The PhD will be awarded in Microfluidics, NMR Spectroscopy, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Biophysics, Chemistry, or related fields.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold an MSc degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Nanobiology, Biophysics, Biotechnology, or a related field.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of microfluidics and molecular spectroscopy techniques.

    • Have experience in microfluidics and/or NMR spectroscopy (advantageous but not mandatory).

    • Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative research skills.

    • Possess proficiency in English at C1 level (certificate may be required).
