The National Industries Group Office offers a Research Training for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program for students who wish to gain experience in genetics and related fields of life sciences. Successful participants will also receive certificates at the end of the program.
Our program includes training on scientific research, scientific communication, and lab visits to discuss with individual principal investigators. At the end of the program, participants will give a presentation on their experience as the “NIGINTERN Reports Symposium”. NIG will issue a certificate to those who have successfully completed the program. Interns can also participate in various activities such as graduate program lectures, journal clubs, and seminars by outstanding researchers from inside and outside of NIG. Japanese language classes are also available.
Eligibility Criteria
NIG Internship is an international internship and students of any nationality are eligible to apply.
Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible.
Applicants are eligible in the third year of a 4-year undergraduate program, in the second year of a 3-year undergraduate program, in the fourth year of a 5-year program, in the first year of a two-year master’s program. Program, or in the fifth year of a 6-year program.

Offered Benefits
Fully funded internship for international students in Japan.
All expenses and paid internship will be fully covered. The following things will be covered:
1- Round plane tickets will be covered.
2- Domestic transportation fare between the airport in Japan and NIG.
3- Free accommodation / accommodation in the institute’s guest house.
4- Travel insurance during the program.
5- A meal allowance will also be provided (1,500JPY / day, subject to change).
