Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships in Experimental Characterisations and Modelling of Facial Tissues for Simulation of Facial Deformations, UK Established in 1920, Swansea University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Swansea (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Wales. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Swansea University is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Swansea University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 99 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD degree in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering,  Compu t ational Mechanics, Experimental Mechanics
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Candidates must normally hold a master’s qualification (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) to comply with Grenoble’s admissions requirements.

Offered Benefits

This scholarship programme covers the full cost of tuition fees and an annual stipend of £18,622. Additional research expenses will also be available.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To apply, please complete your application online with the following information.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • CV
  • Degree certificates and transcripts (if you are currently studying for a degree, screenshots of your grades to date are sufficient)
  • A cover letter including a ‘Supplementary Personal Statement’ to explain why the position particularly matches your skills and experience and how you choose to develop the project.
  • Two references (academic or previous employer) on headed paper or using the  Swansea University reference form. Please note that we are not able to accept references received citing private email accounts, e.g. Hotmail. Referees should cite their employment email address for verification of reference.
  • Copy of UK resident visa (if applicable).
  • Confirmation of EDI forms submission (optional).
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the admission requirement of the university at the undergraduate level.
  • Language Requirement: If applicable – IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 5.5 in each individual component) or Swansea recognised equivalent. Details on the Swansea University English Language entry policy can be found here.
