The University of St Andrews and the University of Victoria is jointly-supervised Fully-Funded Global PhD International funding for the academic year 2020-2021. The grant is funded by St Leonard’s Postgraduate College.

The scholarship aims to support outstanding students who want to undertake a doctoral program in Intelligible and Trustworthy Deep Learning Research for the Humanities.

Fully-Funded Global PhD International Scholarship in Computer Science at University of St Andrews, 2020 Founded in 1413, University of St Andrews is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the medium-sized town of St Andrews (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Scotland. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Doctoral research program in Computer Science.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must not already (i) hold a doctoral degree; or (ii) be matriculated for a doctoral degree at the University of St Andrews or another institution.

Offered Benefits

The Scholarship covers full tuition fees for the award term spent at St Andrews. For the period spent at the University of St Andrews, the student will receive a stipend payable at the standard UK Research council rate (the 2019-2020 annual rate is £15,009). For the period spent at the University of Victoria, the student will receive a scholarship of CAD$21,000 annually, from which they will cover living costs and the applicable tuition fees.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: In order to apply for the opportunity , applicants must take admission in the PhD degree program at the University of St Andrews. After that, candidates will be automatically considered for this education award. Admission at the University of Victoria will be arranged conditional on success at the University of St Andrews and will involve additional steps.
  • Supporting Documents: Must submit a CV, a research proposal, a sample of academic written work in English, two original signed academic references, academic transcripts, and degree certificates.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, candidates must check the entry requirements of the program.
