Fully-Funded CISM International PhD Scholarships in Materials Engineering Established in 1920, Swansea University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Swansea (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Wales. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Swansea University is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Swansea University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 99 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Dielectrics, Semiconductors, Electronics, Optoelectronics offered by the university
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Candidates must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level or preferably a Master’s at Merit (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) in Physics, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Chemistry.

Offered Benefits

Swansea University will provide the full cost of UK tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,609 for three years.

  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:

  • Degree certificates and transcripts
  • A cover letter including a ‘Supplementary Personal Statement.’
  • Two references
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree certificate with outstanding academic achievement for taking admission.
