French Government Charpak Master’s Scholarships for Meritorious Indian Students Founded in 1971, KAIST is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Daejeon (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Korea, KAIST is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 7,000-7,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. KAIST offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: India
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the Master’s degree level for all streams and fields of study.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants must be an Indian nationals or an OCI card holder
  • Applicants must be 30 years old maximum at the time of application
  • Applicants must be a student currently enrolled in or have studied at an Indian Institution of higher learning or a young professional employed in a company for a maximum of 3 years at the time of application
  • Applicants must have applied for admission at a French institution, before applying for the scholarship. For the admission procedures, please contact your nearest Campus France office in India or refer to the website of the institution of your choice.
  • The course must take place in France. If you have one semester or more of studies in another country, the scholarship will not be provided during that period.
  • An exception will be made for Charpak scholarship holders who are currently completing their M1 in France. They may re-apply for a second year of funding in order to complete their M2. There is no automatic renewal of the scholarship at the M2 level. Acceptance will be subject to academic performance at the M1 level, the nature of the master’s program and a new statement of purpose.
  • Knowledge of French is an asset but not mandatory to apply for the scholarship
  • The scholarship is available for master’s degree programs in France. Applicants are not eligible to apply if they want to work on their master’s thesis or research project.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to open a personal account on the EEF Web site –  click here.
  • STEP 1: Application Procedure:
  • Log on to Etudes en France Website and Create their Account by clicking on “Register”
  • Fill out the account creation form. Applicants will receive an email requesting them to choose their password as per the requirements. Note Campus France Registration Number (ex. INXX-XXXX)
  • To access their account, go to Campus France Website. Click on “Login” and enter using the chosen Username (id) / Password.
  • Click on Applicant if they wish to apply to French Institutions through the portal
  • Fill in their personal information, academic records, language skills & CV+SOP sections. Upload required documents.
  • Refer to the link here to understand the number of programs they can apply for from an online catalogue.
  • Submit their motivation for the programs.
  • Wait for the Campus France advisor to review their file and give them a date for an appointment.
  • STEP 2: The Academic Interview
  • Step 3: Confirmation and Visa Procedure
  • STEP 4: Online visa application and scheduling of an appointment with VFS – France. Applicants must check the list of documents and prepare their files.
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants are required to upload all the following documents:
  • CV/Resume,
  • Photograph,
  • Passport,
  • Academic Records (Mark sheets & Certificates)
  • Submit motivation for the program
  • Admission Requirements: Before starting an application, applicants must check all the entry requirements and application producer.
