Frank and Alma Kemp Scholarship at University of Waikato, New Zealand Established in 1964, University of Waikato is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Hamilton (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Waikato. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Tauranga. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, New Zealand, University of Waikato (UoW) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Waikato (UoW) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 55 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this New Zealand higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

The Frank and Alma Kemp support will provide up to $5,000 per year for the duration of the recipient’s undergraduate degree.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: For being enlisted in the program, candidates are needed to register in the undergraduate degree coursework at the university. After taking affirmation, you can win the opportunity.
  • Supporting Documents: Provide your proposed course of study and future career plans, recent and current community involvement, Ncea school results summary, or equivalent, a CV, a character reference; and  request the submission of a completed principal’s assessment form
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a  minimum of 120 points on the UCAS Tariff at A or AS level other than General Paper, including at least three subjects in which no grade is lower than D.
  • Language Requirement: Students must have the following:
  • Academic IELTS overall score of 5.5
  • iBT minimum score of 46 with a writing score of 14
  • B grade or better at Level 6 in the Certificate of Attainment in Academic English
  • PTE Academic overall score of 49 and no less than 38 for Writing.
