The studentships are predominantly open to students with established UK residency but internal students are also eligible to apply. 24 string applications will be considered for the studentship award covering stipend and support up to £15,609 and £4500 per year.

FoodBioSystems DTP International PhD Studentships in UK Founded in 1966, University of Surrey is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Guildford (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: UK, EU, and all other international students are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply to take up the FoodBioSystems Doctoral Training Partnership program at Surrey.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants are expected to have some laboratory food science experience already.
  • This project would be suitable for a student with a degree in food science and nutrition, with a keen interest in learning new laboratory and clinical techniques. They would expect the successful candidate to have already some laboratory food science experience.

Offered Benefits

The selected candidates will be provided a tax-free stipend and support for tuition fees at the standard UK rate, i.e. a minimum of £15,609 per year and £4500 per year respectively.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Applicants must log in to the university portal to apply to any desired programme. Applications for the studentship must be made via the online portal of the FoodBioSystems portal.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Scanned copies of signed/stamped qualifications (certificates or transcripts)
  • A copy of your passport
  • A personal statement
  • A research proposal
  • Contact details of two referees
  • Admission Requirements: The candidates applying must have a degree in food science and nutrition, with a keen interest in learning new laboratory and clinical techniques.
  • Language Requirement: The applicants must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or above (or equivalent) with 6.0 in each individual category, in an IELTS Academic test taken in the last 2 years.
