Flowers Scholarship at Northumbria University Founded in 1992, Northumbria University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Newcastle upon Tyne (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), North East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Northumbria University (UNN) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Northumbria University (UNN) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 27 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: UK/Home applicants, including students from Jersey, Guernsey, The Channel Islands, Ireland, and the Isle of Man.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in the BA (Hons) Product Design program at Northumbria University.
  • Admissible Criteria:
    To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Live in a neighborhood with a low progression rate to Higher Education (use the Postcode Checker).
  • Identify as being from a Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background.
  • Declare a physical and/or mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference on their UCAS form.

Additional eligibility terms:

  • Be enrolled in the Full-Time BA (Hons) Product Design course at Northumbria’s Newcastle Upon Tyne campus in September 2024.
  • Be a self-funded student.
  • Have applied for government student finance (e.g., Tuition Fee loan, Maintenance loan) and registered with Student Finance England, Wales, Northern Ireland, or Scotland.
  • Provide consent to share data with Northumbria University via the Government Finance Provider.
