The Financial Economics MSc course will equip you with fundamental knowledge in economics and finance, and give you opportunities to choose a focus within the wide range of electives. The Programme is realized in academic cooperation with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). All staff lecturers have Ph.D. degrees from top USA and European Universities. Professors from the LSE, Oxford and other high-ranked institutions are regularly invited to give lectures. Graduates enjoy successful careers in financial sector: corporate finance, business assessment or quantitative finance; strategic consulting, or academic sphere in Russia and abroad. Modern campus is located in the center of Moscow, with easy access to major business and scientific hubs. Competitive price and cost of living makes the Programme attractive for students from abroad, who can also get 100% scholarship or financial aid, and are entitled to a place in dormitory.

The Financial Economics MSc course is designed according to international quality standards:

Professors with Ph.D. from leading USA and Europe Universities and practitioners. Invited Professors from LSE, Oxford and other foreign Universities. Programme is held entirely in English. Examinations are monitored by international experts appointed by the International Academic Committee (IAC) of International College of Economics and Finance. Programme meets all the requirements of the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. International mobility. Programme graduates receive a Russian master’s degree and an official letter of validation, signed by the LSE Director, certifying that the student has completed the programme which is compatible with the international quality standards.

Programme structure: 2 years, 15 compulsory and 6 elective courses, internship, and Master’s thesis.

Core courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Mathematics for Economists, Financial Asset Pricing, Corporate Finance, Financial Econometrics, Research Seminar.

Electives: Corporate Valuation in Mergers and Acquisitions, Banking, Investment Management, Risk Management in a Commercial Bank, International Trade and Development, R Programming and Applications to Finance, Market Microstructure, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Risk Management, International Finance.

Two thirds of Programme students come from Economic studies. We also admit students with other backgrounds (Mathematics, Physics or other) whose knowledge of mathematics will allow them to master contemporary economics and finance.

Eligibility Criteria

MSc programme in Financial Economics is designed for graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree, having a strong mathematical background, a basic knowledge of Economic Theory and a good level of English language. 60% of our students are graduates of economic faculties, another 30% have done their first degree in physics, mathematics, various natural and technical sciences. However, we are open to students with different backgrounds, interested in economics and finance and having a strong background in higher mathematics.

Offered Benefits

Tuition fee is RUB 360000 (app. USD 5 679) per year. Merit-based scholarship with up to 100% tuition-waiver are available. To be considered for a full-tuition scholarship, candidates must submit their applications by May 1, 2017.
