Federated States of Micronesia Australia Awards Scholarship Program for Students from Developing Countries Established in 1925, University of Miami is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Coral Gables (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Florida.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the master’s and PhD studies. The priority areas of study for FSM are:
  • Education
  • Health, including Pathology
  • Environment and Climate Change
  • Natural Resource Management, including fisheries and food security
  • Cybersecurity
  • Psychology, social work, and social protection
  • International law and international relations
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applications are strongly encouraged from women, people with disability, and other marginalized groups
  • For Master’s Degree level study:
  • A) must hold a bachelor’s degree and have achieved above-average results, and have at least 3 years relevant work experience
  • B) not hold or have held a scholarship to study outside their home country in the 24 months preceding the application
  • C) Applicants should have an IELTS or TOEFL at a pass rate of 6.5 for each band that is current at the time of application
  • D) Applicants must not hold a master’s degree.
  • For Doctorate Degree (PhD) level study:
  • A) must hold a master’s degree and have achieved above-average results, and have at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • B) Applicants must not hold or have held a scholarship to study outside their home country in the 24 months preceding the application
  • C) Applicants should have an IELTS or TOEFL at a pass rate of 6.5 for each band that is current at the time of application
  • D) Applicants must not hold a PhD Degree.

Offered Benefits

Australia Awards scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian education institution, including any preparatory training.

Scholarship recipients will receive the following:

  • return air travel
  • a one-off establishment allowance on arrival
  • full tuition fees
  • contribution to living expenses
  • introductory academic program
  • overseas student health cover for the duration of the scholarship
  • supplementary academic support,
  • fieldwork allowance for research students and masters by coursework, which has a compulsory fieldwork component

Awards will be offered for commencement in 2024.

  • Copy of a valid passport biodata
  • Copy of College Degree certificate and official academic transcripts
  • Copy of University Degree certificate and official academic transcripts
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the applicant, academic qualifications, and work-related experience (no more than three pages)
  • A copy of a reference/support letter from your employer on their recommendation for the study program
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet all the admission requirements that their chosen university will provide.
