The ETH Zurich is inviting scientists to apply for the Faculty Research Grants for a research stay or a workshop/conference attendance, or lectures, courses, and collaboration meetings. The grants will be awarded for the academic year 2023-2024.

These grants are especially for scientists from lower-income countries that want to conduct research stays, attend conferences and workshops, and more. Swiss and international students can both apply. The applicants must have planned or existing collaboration with professors at ETH Zurich to be considered. A maximum of 5,000 to 10,000 CHF can be expected by the selected candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from within Switzerland and abroad both can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Candidates can submit applications for senior scientists or professors’ positions at ETH Zurich.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must apply for Visiting Scientist and Teaching Stay grants.
  • The applicants must be existing or planned research collaborations with the hosting professor.
  • The applicants must have proven academic qualifications
  • The applicants from “least developed”, “low-?income” and “lower-?middle-income” countries will be given preference.

Offered Benefits

The students appointed by the ETH Zurich for the Visiting Scientist and Teaching Stay positions will be provided a grant sum of 10,000 CHF and 5,000 CHF respectively.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Students can submit online applications for the Visiting Scientist Grantand Teaching Stay Grant
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Description of the teaching stay
  • Budget
  • CV of the applicant (max. two pages)
  • Letter of support from ETH professor
  • Support or invitation letter of the hosting partner university
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the requirements of the position they want to appointed on.
  • Language Requirement: The applicants must have knowledge of German and English Language.
