As globalisation increases and people, money and goods circulate around the world with ever increasing frequency, there is the growing tendency of criminal activities to have an extended reach. The situation around crime, and the high impact of terrorist activities in modern societies, has created a need within the International Community to dedicate resources and initiatives to prevent the new breed of sophisticated crimes.
Three international partners have joined together to deliver the Erasmus Mundus Masters in Forensic Science. The programme trains and educates future forensic scientists, with the aim of creating a body of trained professionals who can join in with national and international strategies to combat crime and protect communities around.
Some grants will be available based on the funds received from EACEA for EU and non-EU students. The number of grants for EU and non-EU students available for this Erasmus Mundus will be made public later in the year. When candidates apply for a place in the programme but are not offered an Erasmus Mundus scholarship they will need to cover the tuition fees and all other expenses with funding from an alternative scholarship programme or private sources. EACEA grants will be awarded to the best candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
European students are considered to be :
students who are nationals from the 27 EU Member States (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, UK, Sweden, Bulgaria, Malta, Poland, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania); students who are nationals from one of the EEA-EFTA states (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway); students who have resided or carried out their main activities (studies, work, etc.) for more than 12 months over the past five years (preceding the start of the academic year) in any of the above countries
Restrictions:
1. Only those candidates who have been accepted by the Consortium in accordance with its specific students’ application and selection criteria, are eligible for a scholarship.
2. Scholarship candidates MUST have already obtained a first higher education degree or demonstrate to be in possession of a recognised equivalent level of learning -according to national legislation and practices- by the time in which the application process is closed. These degrees or equivalent levels will need to be demonstrated by an official certificate issued in the national language and an official translation of this certificate into English.
3. Individuals who have already benefited from an EACEA scholarship are not eligible for a second scholarship in order to follow the same or another Masters course
5. Students benefiting from an EACEA scholarship cannot benefit from another Community grant while pursuing their Erasmus Mundus masters studies.
6. EACEA scholarships are awarded exclusively for a full-time enrolment in one of the course editions.
