Mozarteum University Salzburg is excited to offer the Ensemble Scholarship for emerging artists! This one-year scholarship is designed to support ensembles in developing and realizing artistic projects. Open to students and graduates of Mozarteum University Salzburg, the scholarship provides financial support ranging from Euro 3,000 to Euro 6,000.

To be eligible for the Ensemble Scholarship, applicants must be part of an ensemble consisting of at least three members, with 50% of the group being active students or graduates of Mozarteum University Salzburg within the last two years. External members can join, but they cannot make up the majority of the ensemble. Ensemble Scholarships for International Students in Austria for Course Founded in 1841, Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Mozarteum University Salzburg) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Salzburg (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Bundesministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft and Forschung, Österreich (Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, Austria), Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (UMS) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (UMS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is open to any artistic project involving an ensemble, including unusual combinations such as actors and musicians.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Ensemble groups must consist of at least three members (piano duos and Lied duos may have fewer members).
  • 50% of the ensemble members must be active students or former students of Mozarteum University Salzburg who graduated within the last 2 years.
  • External persons can be part of the ensemble but not the majority.
  • The ensemble must agree to play together for at least one year.
  • A concrete project concept and a cost breakdown/financing plan must be submitted.
  • A designated contact person must be chosen from within the ensemble (must be an active student or graduate of Mozarteum University Salzburg within the last 2 years).
  • The ensemble must participate in a mandatory presentation on May 10, 2025.
