Corvinus University of Budapest is offering a unique opportunity the EKÖP Fellowship for aspiring researchers, talented undergraduate and graduate students, and early-career academics seeking to pursue their studies or research in Hungary.

The fellowship is open to applicants at various academic levels, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as young lecturers and researchers. Applicants must have a CORVINUS supervisor for bachelor’s and master’s programs. Support is also available to those who have applied for admission but have not yet started their studies, and to young lecturers or researchers who are not in a formal employment position at the time of application.

EKÖP Fellowship in Hungary Founded in 1920, Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem (Corvinus University of Budapest) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Budapest (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Magyar Felsooktatási Akkreditációs Bizottság (Hungarian Accreditation Committee), Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem (CUB) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem (CUB) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. The admission rate range is 50-60% making this Hungarian higher education organization a averagely selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by Corvinus University of Budapest

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Find a Corvinus supervisor related to their research topic (mandatory for bachelor’s and master’s students)

    • Apply under one of the following categories and timeframes:

      • Undergraduate studies: 5 or 10 months (2025.09.01 – 2026.01.31 or 2025.09.01 – 2026.06.30)

      • Master’s programme: 5 or 10 months

      • Doctoral studies: 5 or 12 months (2025.09.01 – 2026.08.31)

      • Young lecturers/researchers: 12 months

    • Applicants can apply even if they are not yet officially enrolled or employed at the time of application.

Offered Benefits

  • Undergraduate students: HUF 125,000 / month

  • Master’s students: HUF 150,000 / month

  • Doctoral students: HUF 180,000 / month

  • Young lecturers and researchers: HUF 200,000 / month
