Ekiti State 2024/2025 Scholarship & Bursary Awards For Nigerian Students for Bachelor

This is to inform the general public especially students of the higher institutions of learning that the Government of Ekiti State has graciously approved the commencement of full digitalization of Bursary/ Scholarship award for 2024/2025 Academic session from Undergraduate to post graduate levels.

Furtherance to the commitment of Ekiti State Government in encouraging academic excellence and alleviating the financial burdens of its brilliant students, the administration of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, will award scholarship to qualified students who are already pursuing various courses in their second vear and above in Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Ekiti State Government Scholarship Award, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Be in their 2nd year or above in their course of study.
  • Possess a WASSCE/NECO certificate with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in one sitting.
  • Maintain a minimum CGPA of 4.0 for university students or its equivalent, 3.50 for polytechnics, and 3.50 for NCE students.

For Master’s Degree and Ph.D. candidates, a 2nd Class Upper Division at the undergraduate level is required. Ph.D. applicants must have a distinction in their Master’s Degree. A letter of recommendation from the Head of Department is also necessary.

Physically challenged students in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and schools of nursing/midwifery are eligible for the Handicapped Scholarship Award.

Part-time and Sandwich students are not eligible for this award.

Condition for scholarship award:

  • The Scholarship Award is for one academic year, it lapses if not utilised within the academic year of Award.
  • Scholars are not allowed to enjoy any other Government or corporate organisation scholarship concurrently with the Ekiti State Government Scholarship
  • Scholar must devote his/her time to full time course for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • Scholars must conduct themselves as good ambassadors of Ekiti State.
  • The Scholarship may be terminated if the recipient fails to comply with any of the rules.
  • Any error or mistake made by the Board or discovered by the Board, particularly as a result of misinformation or misdirection of the Board shall be resolved in favour of the Board. The discretion of the Board on such issues shall take precedence over the Scholar's interest.
  • The awardee cannot change his/her course of study, level or institution.
  • The duration of the award is one academic session.
  • All conditions specified in the letter of award shall form part of the rules contained in this document.

  • Create Account: Click on the Apply button and fill in all the required information, from there an email will be sent to your email inbox for confirmation. From there sign in to your account
  • Complete Your Profile: Complete your profile set up (personal, course, parent, referee & files to upload) and save
  • Apply For Eligible Forms: After completing your profile setup, then you will have access to application forms that your are eligible for

Free application forms are available for eligible students. You can collect the forms at the Ekiti State Scholarship Board, located at the New Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti.

Required Documents:

To forestall fraud and/or impersonation, an applicant shall submit along with the application form, certified copies of the under listed:

  • The current school fees payment receipts
  • Institution's identification card
  • Letter of identification from Head of Department
  • Certified transcript by the Registrar of the Institution.
  • Certified copies of credentials
  • Certificate of Loca lGovernment origin.
  • 3 Years Tax Payment Certificate and Development Levy, receipts of applicant's parent.

Prospective applicants should submit the following documents:

  • Admission Letter
  • WAEC or NECO result
  • Birth certificate or declaration of age
  • NIN certification
  • Letter of recommendation from school
