The Edmonton Refugee & Emerging Community (EREC) Scholarship provides financial support ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 to help individuals pursue post-secondary education or obtain employment in their chosen field.
The EREC Scholarship Fund was established at the Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) to enhance the quality of life for refugees and members of emerging communities living in the greater Edmonton area.
In 2026, Africa Centre and ECF established a partnership to manage and deliver the EREC Scholarship initiative. To support its implementation, Africa Centre works closely with members of emerging communities through a Scholarship Advisory Committee.
