East-West Center Rising Pacific Islands Leaders (RPIL) Fellowship at the University of Hawaii, USA Founded in 1887, Clark University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Worcester (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Massachusetts. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Clark University (CU) is a small (uniRank enrollment range: 3,000-3,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Clark University (CU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Candidates must be citizens of one of the following Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders (PICL) Member countries: American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Hawai’i, Kiribati, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a graduate degree program in any subject offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants must be Citizens and bona fide residents of a PICL member country/territory/State of Hawai’i: American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Hawai’i, Kiribati, and Republic of the Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
  • Applicants are bona fide residents of a PICL member country/territory/State of Hawai’i if they have resided there for a minimum of 5 years preceding acceptance into the fellowship.
  • Bachelor’s degree. Exceptions may be considered based on other relevant experience and qualifications.
  • The program is aimed at early- to mid-career professionals, spanning the ages of approximately 21-35.
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated impact in your professional career and/or local community.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The Rising Pacific Islands Leaders (RPIL) Fellowship application will be switching to an online application. In the application, there are fields in which the following pieces need to be uploaded or input directly to complete their application.
  • Supporting Documents: Students must be ready to submit all the following documents:
  • Two letters of reference
  • Application Form (fellable on the application website)
  • CV/Resume
  • Transcripts from all prior undergraduate study
  • Personal Statements (prompts for the personal statements are on the application website)
  • Admission Requirements: Complete educational requirements for admission to the University of Hawai‘i (Bachelor’s degree exceptions may be considered based on other relevant experience and qualifications).
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
