The Collegium (ETH Zurich, University of Zurich, and Zurich University of the Arts) invites applications for its 10-month residential Early-Career Fellowships in Zurich. Open to outstanding academics and artists, the program supports interdisciplinary and unconventional projects. Fellows receive a full-time postdoctoral position at ETH Zurich with a salary of CHF 75,000–85,000, access to research facilities, and opportunities for collaboration.

To be eligible for the fellowship at the Collegium, applicants must hold a doctorate in an academic discipline or a master’s degree from an art school (if the institution does not award doctoral degrees).

The Collegium is a multidisciplinary research institute in Zurich, jointly supported by ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich, and the Zurich University of the Arts. It fosters an innovative and collaborative environment for scholars and artists, encouraging interdisciplinary research that challenges conventional academic boundaries. The Collegium offers residential fellowships for early-career researchers and artists, providing them with resources, intellectual engagement, and opportunities to develop groundbreaking projects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applications are open to candidates from all countries.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship supports research projects across all academic disciplines and artistic fields.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Hold a doctorate in an academic discipline or a master’s degree from an art school (if the institution does not award doctoral degrees).
  • Have obtained their degree no more than five years prior to the fellowship start date (September 1, 2025).
  • Not hold a permanent academic position.
  • Secure a letter of support from a faculty member at ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich, or the Zurich University of the Arts, who will act as their associate fellow.
  • Submit proof of degree completion by June 2025 if not yet available at the time of application.
  • Be available for full-time residency at the Collegium in Zurich from September 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for online interviews on April 14–15, 2025.
  • Applications submitted via email or mail will not be considered.
