The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music is thrilled to announce the Davison Young Musicians Foundation National Trumpet Competition, taking place on 19 October 2024. Open to trumpet students from high schools and universities in Hungary, this prestigious competition offers participants the opportunity to showcase their talent and win valuable instruments. The competition is open to Hungarian and foreign trumpet students studying in high school or enrolled in BA, artist MA, or one-tier MA programs at Hungarian musical institutions, including the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. High school students may also apply for the “Under 25” category.The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music is one of Hungary’s most prestigious institutions for higher education in music. Located in Budapest, the academy is internationally recognized for its exceptional programs in classical music and performance. With a rich history and a distinguished faculty, the academy nurtures talented musicians from around the world, offering a wide range of courses, including instrumental studies, vocal arts, composition, and musicology.

DYMF National Trumpet Competition in Hungary for Course Founded in 1875, Liszt Ferenc Zenemuvészeti Egyetem (Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Budapest (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Kecskemét. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Magyar Felsooktatási Akkreditációs Bizottság (Hungarian Accreditation Committee), Liszt Ferenc Zenemuvészeti Egyetem (LFZE) is a coeducational higher education institution. Liszt Ferenc Zenemuvészeti Egyetem (LFZE) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Hungary and international students who meet the program criteria
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The competition is open to trumpet students in high school or studying for a BA, artist MA, or one-tier MA at a Hungarian musical institution
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
    1. High school or university-level trumpet students enrolled at Liszt Ferenc Academy or any other Hungarian music institution.
    2. High school students can apply to the “Under 25” category if they meet the age requirement.
    3. Students must prepare the specified audition materials and be available for the competition on the designated date.

Application Process

  • Application Period: 25 September – 5 October 2024
  • Number of Participants: Limited to 15 per category based on the order of application
