The University of Queensland (UQ), in collaboration with the Dr Jian Zhou Foundation is pleased to announce the Dr Jian Zhou Scholarship for 2025. This prestigious scholarship supports high-achieving international students from Wenzhou Medical University, China, who wish to pursue Higher Degree by Research (HDR) studies in health and medicine at UQ.

The scholarship aims to promote academic excellence by supporting outstanding students with a background from Wenzhou Medical University to undertake doctoral research at UQ.

Dr Jian Zhou Scholarship in Australia for PhD Founded in 1909, The University of Queensland is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized town of St Lucia (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Queensland. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: China (students from Wenzhou Medical University)

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any HDR program in health and medicine offered by the University of Queensland.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Be an international student from Wenzhou Medical University, China

    • Apply for a Higher Degree by Research program at UQ

    • Demonstrate academic excellence and potential for research success

    • Preference may be given to those under the supervision of staff at The Frazer Institute

Offered Benefits

  • A living stipend of $40,000 per annum

  • Duration of 3.5 years, with the possibility of a 1-year extension in accordance with UQ and RTP Scholarship Policy

  • The scholarship also includes opportunities to present your research to the Donor and engage with UQ’s dynamic research community.

Application Process

Applicants will automatically be considered for this scholarship when they apply for a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at UQ in the international scholarship round. Applicants must follow the instructions for the Graduate School Scholarship application process.
