The Uppsala University’s Department of Chemistry – Ångström invites applications for Doctoral position in Plasmonic Nanophotonics, starting 1 October 2025 or as agreed. The project focuses on developing advanced plasmonic nanocoatings that reflect infrared solar radiation while maintaining visible transparency, aiming to reduce building cooling demands and promote sustainable architecture.
To be eligible for this doctoral position, applicants must hold a master’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent qualifications. They should have demonstrated knowledge and experience in plasmonics and nanophotonics, practical skills in materials synthesis and analysis, strong motivation for interdisciplinary research in sustainability, and excellent communication skills in English.
