The Vision Science group in collaboration with interdisciplinaryPhotonics Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate topursue a project on using the latest advancements in digital technology todevelop a portable ocular imaging device.The incumbent will be exposed to a range of challenges includingdesign (hardware), programming and trialing the end product. The idealcandidate would have (i) experience in common programming languagessuch as Matlab, Python, C++, java (ii) understands concepts of Javaprograming, (iii) acute understanding of the biological questions beingaddressed by the supervisors; (iv) experience with optics; and (iv)experience and desire to disseminate the image analysis know-how throughworkshops, collaboration, and international consortia.The PhD candidate is expected to innovate novel image analysismethods, when the need arises, and share the methods through peer, reviewed publications and open source channels. This position will suit acandidate with a background in computer science, software engineering,medical imaging, physics or related field.

Eligibility Criteria
