Diaconia University of Applied Sciences is offering Scholarship for Non-EU/EEA Students. If the student applies for a scholarship and is still waiting for course assessments to be registered to MyDiak, they can be granted a conditional scholarship. In this case, the course credits have to be registered to MyDiak by the end of the June in the spring semester.

The scholarship program aims to provide financial assistance to non-EU/EEA students who pay tuition fees at Diaconia University of Applied Sciences. Diaconia University of Applied Sciences Scholarship for Non-EU/EEA Students, Finland Established in 1996, Diakonia ammattikorkeakoulu (Diaconia University of Applied Sciences) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Helsinki (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Uusimaa. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Pori, Pieksämäki, Turku, Oulu. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö, Suomi (Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland), Diakonia ammattikorkeakoulu (DIAK) is a small (uniRank enrollment range: 3,000-3,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Lutheran religion. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Non-EU/EEA countries
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Any subject offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • All students who have obtained at least 55 credits included in their degree programme during the previous academic year are granted a scholarship.
  • Credits must be counted cumulatively.
  • Conditional scholarships may be granted if the student is waiting for course assessments to be registered to MyDiak by the end of June in the spring semester.
  • Summer studies’ credits can be counted for the next year’s scholarship.
  • Up to 15 credits from studies accredited on the basis of prior learning can count towards the total number of credits for scholarship eligibility.
  • Students who obtained more than 50 but fewer than 55 credits during the previous academic year may be considered for scholarships under special circumstances. They must provide explanations and appropriate documents with their applications.
  • Students may apply for scholarships for their final semester if they have obtained no fewer than 27 credits during the semester in which they apply.

Offered Benefits

Non-EU/EEA students who pay tuition may apply for a €2.000 scholarship at the end of each academic year. Scholarships are based on study performance. All students who have obtained at least 55 credits included in their degree programme during the previous academic year are granted a scholarship.
