The National Society of Newspaper Columnists Education Foundation is offering an annual Dear Abby College Columnist Scholarship Contest to attract aspiring college-age writers.

The award is designed to recognise the outstanding work of aspiring journalists. The goal of the program is to inspire and facilitate young people to consider careers in journalism and support to college publication columnists.

NSNCEF is a tax-exempt non-profit foundation that incorporated in 2003, in Texas. It brings up training opportunities for columnists and others interested in column writing.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: the United States
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The award will award for college study in journalism
  • Admissible Criteria: The ideal candidate would be a young person (college columnists) who has the desire not only to succeed but also to contribute to the betterment of the community.

  • Supporting Documents: None or as will be mentioned on the application at the time of entry
  • Entry Requirements: Must have an interest in journalism careers.
  • Language Requirement: Candidates must have excellent skills in the language of English (Speaking, writing, reading)

Benefits: The winner of the program will receive a $5000 award to support their college education and build a career in journalism.
