Deakin University HDR PhD funding for International Students in Australia Established in 1974, Deakin University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Geelong (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Victoria. Offered Benefits

The program will provide all the following benefits:

  • Stipend of $28,092 per annum tax exempt (2020 rate)
  • Relocation allowance of $A500-$A1500 (for single to family) for students moving from interstate or overseas to commence the program in Australia
  • International students only: Tuition fees offset for the duration of 4 years. Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of the student visa.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To be considered for this award, claimants are required to gain admission in the PhD degree program at the university. After recognition as a PhD student, candidates can download and complete the award application form for this opportunity.
  • Supporting Documents: Aspirants are required to attach the aptitude for written communication, evidence of their reporting/publications track record or written communication professional engineering experience, information on work placements and engineering roles with the form.
  • Admission Requirements: A bright student should hold an honours degree (first class) or an equivalent standard master’s degree with a substantial research component.
  • Language Requirement: You must meet the PhD entry requirements of both Deakin University and the University of Copenhagen, including English language proficiency requirements.
