The Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF) proudly announces the launch of the De Chastelain Scholarship Programme, starting in 2026. This innovative scholarship, jointly funded by the Irish and Canadian governments, aims to support postdoctoral researchers and academics engaged in research that promotes peace, reconciliation, and sustainability between the two countries. The programme will fund up to 28 scholars over its course, fostering academic collaboration and contributing to the shared goals of peace and societal hope.
Eligibility for the scholarship programme requires applicants to be postdoctoral researchers or established academics who hold a PhD and are ordinarily and lawfully resident in either Canada or the island of Ireland for at least three consecutive years before applying. Applicants must have a formal affiliation with a recognized university, publicly funded research center, or equivalent non-profit research institution in Canada or Ireland at the time of application.
